README.TXT ** 90-series Fonts for MicroStation ** ** FREE for all MicroStation users on behalf of IUGF ** ** (Intergraph Users´ Group in Finland) ** 90-series Fonts: - Font 90 Character appearance and width according to ISO 3098 Lettering B. 7-bit ASCII and DEC Multinational Character Set included (~ Win/ANSI). Special characters for technical documentation added into free areas. Totally 212 characters. - Font 91 Like Font 90, but all characters equal width (7/10 of the height) - Font 92 Like Font 90, but 15 deg. slanted (Italic) - Font 93 Like Font 92, but all characters equal width (7/10 of the height) 90-series Fonts give best results, when drawn with line width 1/10 of the character height, as specified in the ISO 3098 standard. Version history: Ver. 1.00 (1992) Initial version. (Given to BENTLEY at IGUG92) Ver. 2.00 (1993) Characters having a sharp edge in the top or bottom (e.g. A,V,M) have been drawn so that there is a small horizontal portion in the edge. This was done because plotting (especially IPLOT) was stretching the edges over the correct height of the character. Ver. 2.10 (18.7.1995) All Shape elements converted to Line-string elements. (Starting from MS 5.0 Shape elements in Font have Fill-attribute On, e.g. character DEC172) S-character (DEC083) slightly modified. Ver. 2.11 (26.6.1997) Added switches \NOFRACTION and \NOFAST, meaning that TEXT EDITOR will now show characters in the "fraction"-area (DEC128-DEC191) correct. Design- and Cell-files fixed. (69 pcs Line-elements with nonsense attribute data) No changes to character coding or graphics. Ver. 3.00 (14.6.1998) Fonts have been generated with 10-times higher resolution (height=1000). This is because there is a "stroking"-problem in Ver 2.x Fonts (e.g. char B). The size of the rsc-file is the same (!). Characters Z and z are slightly modified in Fonts 90 and 91. No changes to the number of characters or the coding. NOTE BENTLEY started to delivery 90-series Fonts in 1995 (e.g. Vault 1/95, PowerDraft) and from MicroStation 95 on suddenly with new numbers (105-108). All of these are unfortunately Ver. 1.00 ! INSTALLATION Copy the resource-file (Z_F90_93.RSC) to the directory, where MS_SYMBRSRC environment variable is pointing to (e.g. "ms-root"\wsmod\default\symb\), and you will have Fonts 90-93 available after restarting MicroStation. Tips to use 90-series Fonts: - International characters from the keyboard with one or two buttons (e.g. ´ + a) - Any character by decimal value (e.g. DEC172) with key-in \172. (Alt+172 will give "1/4"-character acc. to Extended ASCII/DOS) - WYSIWYG-editor (SELECT-customers) 14.6.1998 / Pekka O.
